Hd61g787daa Noticeable Yellowing On Part Of Screen.
First, i know the lamp needs replacing. The lamp just went out and should be replaced.
My question is: will replaacing lamp fix the noticeable yellowing on left portion of screen? It is not the entire half of screen. the yellowing is really moticeable on white or light images. I did not know if this is a color wheel issue or will be remedied by replacement lamp.
also, when trying to turn on the screen does not turn on and red lamp led blinks as does the blue power light. Again, I know lamp needs to be replaced but wanted to make sure blink codes did not indicate some other issue.

the white light from the lamp is split up into the three primary colors (red, green and blue) with filters in the optical engine. Then each colored light is sent through different paths to hit the LCD panel showing it's portion of the picture, then they are combined back together and goes through the lens and bounced off the big mirror behind the screen. As it ages the blue is the first to be damaged because it has to be amplified with additional lenses to allow for human eyes and it's inability to see blue properly. The additional heat damages the panel and filters stopping the blue in areas from hitting the screen. As a result the bad area appears yellow (red and green). A new lamp will brighten up the screen and the bad areas will be worse than you thought, plus the heat from a new lamp will damage the light path faster.
