if you can turn it "on" and then back "off" with the remote then the "main" board is probably working. Then the audio is likely working, but since you cannot see the video then you don't know what input you are on (wrong input to hear the sound). If it cannot be turned back "off" then the "main" or "power" board is bad.
if the screen is completely black and never lights up slightly for a second or two when first turned "on" then suspect the "power" board.
if the screen is slighty lit when the set is on, then suspect the T-Con board
