Seems likely that the Protector System sensors think something is in the door path, preventing it from closing. Adjusting those sensors may fix your problem. See this article for steps/details:

I can immediately think of 3 possibilities.
- you have something blocking the sensor. It could be something small. There are a pair of little plastic things at the bottom of the rail pointing at each other, usually between 6 and 12R43; off the floor. They are optically coupled to the electronics of the door opener. If something is blocking their view, typically the lights will flash and the door will not close.
- you have a bad sensor or a bad wire to the sensor. I didn't think I'd ever see this, but I had to replace one of the sensor wires on a sensor recently. It's not a hard job. You get some really thin outdoor rated insulated wire, like doorbell wire with 2 conductors. You replace it exactly as it was connecting it to the wire that goes to the opener with wire nuts, or maybe running it all the way. As soon as I did, the garage door started closing properly again.
- You have something wrong with the electronics in your motor itself. Perhaps a bad relay or a bad integrated circuit. It's possible you could get a new control board for it, but it might be about the same price to get an entirely new motor. Your mileage may very. You might be able to buy a new control board for it on Ebay, if you are lucky.
In order of easiest to hardest, start at the top.
