The Billing Situation Is A Bit Confusing. Do Other Companies Bill Their Succeeding Year's Quarterly Payment Practically Just As The Last One Is Sent. Of Course If One Can Do It It Pays To Pay The Whole Year At Once But If One Cannot How Could They Make These Charges Less Close? Gpotter

I'm afraid your question is not really clear, but I'll do my best to answer. Membership fees such as AAA's are always billed in advance. That is, if your membership expires, say, on March 31, you're billed far enough in advance so your payment can be fully processed before March 31. Your question is complicated by your reference to insurance companies, as AAA operates both as a membership organization and (at the member's option) as an insurance company. The principle is the same, however: you must pay in advance. Insurance companies and others very often have various options for payment--you may, for example, have the option to pay once a year or, at higher rates, twice a year or quarterly.
