Why Was I Charged $30 For Delivery Of A Lost Bag?

I had a lost bag on my flight connection from DFW to CHA. When the bag was delivered, there was a paper left with it that stared, "this is your authorization to charge American Airlines Inc for delivery. Of the following items to: John Hoffmann". Am I being charged on my credit card for this lost bag delivery?

No, the delivery company does not have access to your credit card. They are simply stating that by delivering your bag, they have fulfilled their service agreement with American Airlines and can collect payment from them.

It's part of their contract with American and is not billed to you.
