I purchased 3 tickets for a trip to Germany. Two of the people will not be able to go. Are there any options available for non-refundable tickets.

Yes, there are options in which to reuse the ticket within a certain time frame. Generally nonrefundable tickets have fees to change the ticket. Also, most airline tickets are nontransferable, meaning the ticket must be used by the same person.

Call American Airlines 800-433-7300 and explain the situation and ask them if you can use the ticket value towards future travel with AA, or if it has to be used by the person who's name is on the ticket. They will give you all your options and help advise you as to the potential fees involved.
