Error Light On Hl-2270dw Printer

What causes the error light to come on the printer when you try to print? If power off and back on can print one thing then error lgith comes back on

I have this problem--but only if printing envelopes through the manual feeder tray. With an older Brother Laser I had before, the error light would come on after printing an envelope, but I could just punch the Go button and it would reset to a good state.

With that in mind, I found that if I press and hold the Go button for a few seconds, the status panel will cycle through each LED and then end up alternately flashing the Error and Ready LEDs. At that point if I let up on the Go button, the printer reverts to a ready state.

I'm not sure that's any better than turning it off and back on. As for why the Error light comes on, I'm not sure...but I think it may be due to having the envelope feeder tray open.

Now if you're having this problem with 8X11.5 paper in the automatic feeder, I don't know what to tell you...things are working as expected there.
