My New Dm 55 Will Not Connect To My Samsung Tv,& Also My Panasonic Dvd Player.
I have just bought a new Canton DM 55 soundbar. It is connected to a Samsung Series 6 LED TV from 2012.I have tried both using the fiber-optic audio cable or the coaxial analogue audio cables between my DM 55 & either the TV or via the DVD player. All 4 combinations produce no sound at all from the DM 55. After about 10 seconds, the DM 55 goes into "standby".It looks like the DM 55 cannot "hand-shake" with the TV or DVD.If I check the fibre optic cable after connecting to the TV/DVD, the cable shows the expected red light, so the cable looks OK. So, the DM 55 should be receiving the audio signal from the TV/DVD "optical audio out" connection. Likewise for the analogue coaxial cable pair.I think that my TV &DVD "settings" are set up correctly. I tried both settings for "Loudspeaker", ie TV or EXTERNAL, but it made no difference.I do not know how to investigate this catastrophic situation.

You can connect a Canton soundbase to most flatscreen TVs with just one simple connection. Most flatscreen TVs have an optical audio output, which can be used with the supplied cable. This will carry the audio of whatever you're watching on TV, to the Canton soudbase for a vastly improved audio performance.What if my TV doesn't have an optical output?
There is also a coaxial digital input and RCA analogue input available.
