1. Unplug the unit from the power outlet for about 10 minutes to reset the control board.
2. Check if the thermistor is properly connected and that it's not corroded or damaged. The thermistor is a temperature sensor that communicates with the control board.
3. If the thermistor is damaged, it needs to be replaced.
4. If the issue persists after resetting and checking the thermistor, there could be a problem with the control board, and it may need to be replaced.
If none of the above steps work, it would be best to contact a professional technician or Danby customer support to get additional guidance and assistance.
I hope this is helpful? PLEASE "ACCEPT" and mark it "HELPFUL" to complement my little effort. Hope to bring you more detailed answers.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the E4 error on your Danby refrigerator:
Check the wiring connections: Make sure all wiring connections between the main control board and the display board are secure and not damaged. Check for any loose or damaged wires that could be causing the communication error.
Power cycle the refrigerator: Unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet for at least 5 minutes to reset the control board. Plug the refrigerator back in and check if the error code has cleared.
Replace the display board: If the wiring connections and power cycling do not resolve the issue, it is possible that the display board is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. Contact Danby customer support or a qualified technician to diagnose and replace the faulty display board.
Replace the control board: If the display board replacement does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be faulty and needs to be replaced. Again, contact Danby customer support or a qualified technician to diagnose and replace the control board.
