Dell Studio 1745 On Button Turns Off When Opening Laptop

I’d suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check for issue resolution.
- Switch off the computer.
- Disconnect the AC adapter from the system.
- Remove the battery from the computer.
- Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
- Then connect back all the peripherals and check if you are able to switch ON the system
I also suggest you reseat a few components, like memory, hard drive, optical drive, wireless cards and see if that make a difference. You may refer to manual in the link below for removing and reseating of components.
