How Do I Play Music From My Ipod On My Denon Avr 990?

Preparation

Make sure your iOS device is supported (Refer to Owner's manual under the "Connections" tab for a list of iOS models suppoprted)

Use genuine iOS cable.

Confirm that the OS of your iOS device is version 7 or higher.

Procedure

Connect the iOS device to the AVR USB port.

Set the input source to iPod/USB.

The unit detects the iOS device if "Browse from iPod" appears on the AVR's front display. (Nothing is displayed on the TV because the AVR default settings for "Browse mode" are set for iPod operation). This means that you can use the functions on your iOS device screen.

To make the iPod information appear on the TV screen, change iPod Browse Mode to "On Screen" using the "Option" menu.

USB Port Information

USB Memory Devices.
The USB memory device must be formatted to FAT16 or FAT32.
Mass storage class compatible USB memory devices are supported.
Connection through a USB hub is not supported. USB memory device must be directly connected to the USB port.
Do not use an extension cable when connecting a USB memory device.
Not all USB memory devices are guaranteed to work. Some are not recognized.
Only files on the first partition are displayed, when multiple partitions exists on the USB memory.
Unit does not play copyright protected files.
Playback may not be possible if the album art file exceeds 2 MB.
Files are displayed in a maximum of eight folders layers.
A max. of 5000 files (Folders) can be displayed for each layer.
Only supported files can be played (WMA, MP3, WAV, MPEG-4 AAC, FLAC, APPLE LOSSLESS, DSD, JPEG.

It is not possible to use this unit by connecting the unit's USB port to a PC via a USB cable.
