Can't We Get A Direct Simple Answers To Questions, Don't Understand All That Te

Keeps saying hard drive outdated and have to keep up dating program guide, why is that?? Please give me an answer I understand

Hi there Billswank, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to assist you. Every night your receiver should be performing a nightly update. This update allows the guide to update daily and for the receiver to update it's software. The nightly updates are usually set to be performed around 3am, if for any reason this update is being interrupted it will cause the hard drive to be outdated and you will experience the issue you are having.
