Emerson Fr966t 12-bottle Wine Cooler Stopped Working

The unit is 9 years old, and suddenly stopped cooling, at least fully. The door display of temperature is not lit, the inside light is off and will not switch on, and the two fans, on each side of the heat exchange block are not running. There is a chirping noise when the cooler is powered, which I have isolated as coming from a small, round, black component on the board of the display in the door.I determined all the above by taking off the back cover and removing the cooling block with its hot-sink fan to reveal the cold-sink fan. When the power is on, using a laser-pointer thermometer, the cold side of the Peltier is getting down to about 64F and the hot side to about 74F, with an ambient of about 69F. But I dont know what temperature it is set for. When I discovered the problem, the wine bottles were not as cool as usual. I keep the cooler set at 54F, but that may have changed when I tried the temperature change buttons. The display was not working to tell me at that time. With the power on, the circuit board is apparently energized, as the point thermometer shows varying heat/temperature in the components. The 25A fuse appears to be good.I also removed the display board from the door.I did not disconnect any wires so far.Is there anything straightforward I can do with this cooler, or should I junk it for a new one?Thank you,Tony Skipper
