A bad alternator can kill a battery, but your battery is new. You would have to run the car for awhile to kill the new battery with a bad alternator.
It could also be a fuel problem. If the car cranks normally, but doesn't start, it could be a bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter or dirty fuel injection.
