Rear End Part Number

I am trying to locate the pinion race gears for my 1998 ford ranger, I need to find the part number the rear end only has a metal tag when i search the number it isn't found... Were do i find (prefer without disassembling it) the part number so i can get the correct gears and kit for it..   thanks!
