Several things can cause the wrench light - such as oil cooler efficiency, APP performance, turbo overboost, and battery voltage. Your issue sounds like an oil cooler issue. Find out the actual EOT and ECT values.

A wrench light will throw a code, take it by a local shop or parts store & let the check for faults.
