hi there, my hp laptop,s ac adapter has stopped working recently ... whenever i try to connect it to a power output, it usually shows an orange light right by the cable,s connecting end to the laptop. But now it doesn,t show ... as an indication of charging. There was a power surge that occurred right before this problem and i think that might be the cause ... please help.

If you are sure your power supply has failed? You can Google for a replacement which may take you to Ebay. However are you still able to use the laptop without the battery going flat? If that is the case then I would assume your power supply is OK and it is your battery which is at fault. Leave the unit plugged in overnight with the unit in standby and see what comes in the morning. You may see a result that all is well. If the light is still flashing and the laptop is working then it is more likely your battery has failed.
