As far as I know, the dock's DVI port is single-link, so it can only support one monitor. However, as mentioned above, you can do dual external as long as one is analog VGA and the other is DVI.

For reference, it is possible to do dual or even triple DVI out by using a monitor expansion module by Matrox Graphics (the graphics giant before ATI or Nvidia came around). They have units that work with both VGA and DVI in, so you could actually do a single VGA out from the laptop/dock and connect up to 3 DVI monitors. You can get more info here:

Make sure to check video card compatibility as some video cards aren't capable of driving the resolutions needed for multi-monitor support with the expansion boxes.
