Attached To A Docking Station, Laptop Does Not Detect Mouse Or Keyboard

left new laptop connected to docking station overnight. did not close down. when opened laptop cover and laptop came back on, did not detect mouse or keyboard. took out plugs to docking station and re-plugged in, also tried different plugs to no avail

Experience on the 6460b,  if you use the smaller ac power adapter, it often will not power the docking station.  The plug in pin fits, the montior will still work via the docking station but charging and USB ports will not function. Also, there will be no lights on the docking station.  The larger power supply will power the docking station and all will work and then use the smaller one for mobile power for the laptop.
