Wireless Card Is Not Working.

Hi, my laptop began to overheat while using it and suddenly wireless card is not working, even the blue light that shows wireless is turned on, is always on. Somebody checked it and said that I had to buy a new laptop, but, is there a way to fix this problem? Do I have to buy a wireless card or to buy a new notebook? Note: This problem just started after warranty expired. Thank you in advance for helping me.
