Fuse Keeps Blowing When I Try To Start Mower

I replaced my PTO switch and began to mow. A few minutes in the blades kicked off. I found that if I pushed the PTO switch to the side the blades would kick back on. Now, when I put the new PTO switch in I kinda messed up the housing some so there was a little play that allowed me to move the switch from side to side. So after the blades did this a few times the mower just shut off. I found that the 7.5 amp fuse had melted to the fuse housing. I replaced the housing and fuse but as soon as I try to start the mower the engine makes a winding noise and the fuse blows. I replaced the PTO receiver socket but not the whole harness. I looked for grounding issues but could not find any. Can you help??

Sounds like you have a hot wire grounding out. Does it blow right after start up without blades engaged? If it blows when blades are engaged it could also be the PTO or electric clutch.
