Moving A Senior Out Of Ca Coverage To Be Closer To Only Living Relative
My Dad, Patrick Cadden, has been a Kaiser member for 35+ years. He currently resides in an assisted living facility in Santa Rosa, Ca. I'm his only living relative, his daughter, and I reside in Indianapolis, IN. He has had an amputation below the knee in the past year and at close to 90, needs assisted living for all activities except eating. I would like to move him closer to me so I can provide him with care and transport to doctors, plus a lower monthly living fee, but the closest Kaiser facility is 5 hrs away near cleveland and Akron OHio. Would he still be able to maintain prescription coverage and immediate care locally in Indianapolis, with long term hospitalization being taken care of in the area of coverage in Ohio? How do we go about making the change if it is allowed under Kaiser residency guidelines. Erin Radoux
