Lg Wm0642hw Washer (water Will Not Stop Filling When I Start My Load)

when I put my load of laundry in and press start. The water will just keep filling up. perhaps whatever is supposed to notify the machine that the water is full is not working and causing it to overflow. Actually the water doesn't stop running at all. Is there some sort of sensor that could be broken? Please someone help me solve this problem. Can't afford a new one
