Depth Start To Jump Around.

I was just jigging with nothing else running in the boat in about 29 feet of water. The depth on the screen to read anywhere from 20 to 300 feet. Lots of junk scrolling across the screen. Cleaned transducer but no change. Turn off and on but still the same. Disconnected power but tried again and still didn't work. Would go into demo mode but when switched to live still not working properly.

It sounds like your fishfinder is having some issues with its depth readings. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

Check the transducer connections. Make sure that the transducer is properly connected to the fishfinder and that the connections are tight. You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting the transducer to see if that fixes the problem.

Check the transducer for damage. Look for any signs of damage to the transducer, such as cracks or breaks. If the transducer is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

Check the transducer's mounting position. The transducer should be mounted so that it is pointing straight down into the water. If the transducer is not mounted properly, it can cause inaccurate depth readings.

Check the fishfinder's settings. Make sure that the fishfinder's settings are correct for the type of water you are fishing in. You may also want to try adjusting the sensitivity settings to see if that improves the depth readings.

If you have tried all of these things and the problem is still not fixed, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your fishfinder for further assistance.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

If you are using a portable fishfinder, make sure that the transducer is not submerged in water when you are not using it. This can damage the transducer.

If you are using a trolling motor, make sure that the transducer is not in the path of the propeller. This can damage the transducer.

If you are fishing in saltwater, make sure that the transducer is properly cleaned and maintained. Saltwater can corrode the transducer and cause it to malfunction.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with your Lowrance X-4 Pro fish finder, Zyra. It seems there might be some technical issues causing the erratic readings on your screen. Let's troubleshoot some possible solutions:

1. Check the transducer installation: Ensure that the transducer is securely mounted and positioned correctly. Any loose connections or improper installation can affect the fish finder's performance. Make sure the transducer is clean and free from any debris or obstructions.

2. Verify the power source: Confirm that you have a stable power source. Ensure that the power cable connections are secure and free from any damage or corrosion. If possible, try connecting the fish finder to a different power source or battery to rule out any power-related issues.

3. Reset the fish finder settings: Look for a reset or factory reset option in the menu settings of your Lowrance X-4 Pro. Performing a reset will revert the fish finder to its default settings and may help resolve any software-related issues.

4. Software update: Check for any available software updates for your model. Manufacturers often release updates that address performance issues and improve functionality. You can usually find software updates on the manufacturer's website or through their customer support.

5. Contact customer support: If the issue persists despite trying the above steps, reach out to Lowrance's customer support. They have dedicated technicians who can provide further guidance and assist you in diagnosing and resolving the problem.

Remember to have your unit's serial number and any relevant purchase information ready when reaching out to customer support. This will help expedite the troubleshooting process.

I hope these suggestions help in getting your fish finder back to proper working order. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask.

I hope this is helpful? PLEASE "ACCEPT" and mark it "HELPFUL" to complement my little effort. Hope to bring you more detailed answers.
