Unplug the power cord of the CD player from the AC outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet. Turn on the CD player and attempt to play the disc. If the issue is still not resolved, remove the disc and unplug the power cord from the AC outlet.

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the CD player will not play a disc.

  1. Ensure the CD player is plugged into a working AC outlet.IMPORTANT: If the CD player is plugged into an AC outlet that is controlled by a light switch, ensure that the switch is in the ON position.
  2. Turn on the CD player.
  3. Use a soft cloth to clean the disc.WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Do not use solvents such as benzene, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or antistatic spray intended for vinyl records. These products can damage the disc.
  4. Attempt to play the disc.IMPORTANT: CDR or CDRW discs recorded with a High-Speed Recording feature may not playback due to conditions that may have occurred during the burning process. The playback of discs created with a CD burner cannot be guaranteed. If CDR or CDRW discs are being used, attempt to playback a commercially produced CD.
  5. If the issue is not resolved, attempt to play a different commercially produced CD.NOTE: If the issue only occurs with the first CD, then the disc is faulty and should be replaced.
  6. If the issue is occurring with more than one disc, turn off the CD player.
  7. Unplug the power cord of the CD player from the AC outlet for 30 seconds.
  8. Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet.
  9. Turn on the CD player and attempt to play the disc.
  10. If the issue is still not resolved, remove the disc and unplug the power cord from the AC outlet.
  11. Let the CD player remain without power for 1 hour in case of condensation.
  12. After an hour, plug the power cord back into the AC outlet and attempt to play the disc.

Thanks

Sometimes a CD player will display a "No Disc" error. What this means is that the CD player, for some reason, does not recognize the disc. There are various reasons for this error, from the CD lens eye being dirty to a CD format that is incompatible with the player. Troubleshoot through process of elimination.

Remove the disc from the DVD player. Use a lint-free cloth and some denatured alcohol or water to clean the disc and remove any dust or smudges that may prevent the player from reading it properly. Reinsert the disc into the player and press "Play" to see if cleaning the disc fixes the "NO DISC" error.

If a CD player does not work at all, make sure the power supply is on at the outlet. Check the electrical cord and replace it if necessary; remove the housing and test the fuse; test the on-off switch and replace it if needed. ... If a CD player skips, check to be sure the CD itself is not scratched or dirty.
