It's hard to give you the best answer as you didn't tell us exactly what you did and what happened. I hope however the following will help.

Incomprehensible rejections of valid passwords and email addresses have recently become common. I've found that typing the information by hand (rather than using the system clipboard or a password manager to enter it) will often solve.

If the issue is the email address: It's also possible that your Internet Service Provider may give you a solution. In the worst case you may have to use a different email address: Gmail will let you receive its mail at your current (other) mailbox.
