Idles Great But Wont Go

i have an 01 nissan altima. i replaced the timing chains and guides and everthing was working properly. i couldnt drive the car cause i hadnt get the title sent off yet so it sat for about a month then when i went back to it it was hard to get it to crank and once it finally did it will idle great but when you give it gas it spits and sputters. i drove it about a mile down the road and when i tried to turn around it shut off. do you know what could be causing this?
