Hd Antenna
How do I get an HD antenna (RCA 1400R) to work with my Samsung LCD LN 32A330J1D? Samsung says I need an external ant.

I'm not sure what you are asking. I'm not familiar with this antenna model, but the cord from the antenna is usually either coaxial with the screw on connector that connects directly with the RF fitting on the TV, or it has a flat lead with two metal connectors on the two wires. They make adaptors to turn the two wires into a push-on connector for the FR fitting on the TV.
If your problem is making the Antenna work to bring in the local stations, the you have to tell the TV which part of the tuner to use and tell it to search for channels. In the menu find the setup or channel section, select "AIR" not "CABLE" then activate the "Auto-program" (this procedure may take 30 minutes)

All antennas will pick up the HD signal even a pair of rabbit ears if you are close enough to where they transmit the signal. Calling it a HDTV antenna is just a way for the salesman to sell you something you may not need. It just depends on where you live. I live in Glendora, CA very close to there transmitters and pick up nearly 100% of the Air station such as ION, This and ME TV etc plus all the local channels with an older Radio Shack antenna The Color Supreme 100 in great quality you may need an outdoor antenna if you are far from the signal.
