When I Insect A Disc, The Background Turns Black And White

Page 35 is relevant as the connections and the settings can cause no video to be displayed. Depends on which input to the TV you are using.
Page 42 gives instruction on performing a reset to the player which may be all that is needed to return it to correct operation.
