Tuning To Channels Using Hdmi Input From Tivo
I inherited a Sharp LC-60E79U TV, but am having trouble using it with TiVO from Suddenlink. I have it hooked to one of the HDMI inputs. When tuning to a different channel,e.g. 750 while currently watching 730, will get a snowy screen that pulsates in and out. I can usually get to the desired channel by using the "Channel-up" button on the TiVo remote to go to the next channel, then going back down to the desired channel. Sometimes, for some channels, I have to unplug the HDMI then reinsert it to get the channel.I have tried different brands and quality of HDMI cables all the way to the most expensive. Did not see any difference when using the various cables....Please help.John Lemon

If you are using the same remote to control your TV as well as the Tivo box this could be your issue. Is the Tivo box your only source of media? If so then all controls would go via the Tivo box but if you also have a digital signal source you should use the TV remote to switch sources. The Tivo box connects via the HDMI and stays as it is, unless you are using a digital TV or DVD source. To watch another channel on the TV switch to the relevant input. If you change channel on the Tivo box the TV may probably have changed source as the HDMI box takes command hence when disconnecting it, it gets your TV back.
