Model 6160 Bobbin Thread Is Jamming
Everytime I start to sew, the bobbin thread jams, locking the needle in the down position. It takes quite a bit of maneuvering to get the needle to release. Once released, a massive amount of thread is attached to my fabric. I have changed needles, I have put new bobbin thread in. Pls advise. Thank you.

Why does my bobbin thread keep jamming singer?
Check that the upper thread is feeding freely without obstruction (like getting stuck behind the spool cap or getting caught on any rough spots o the thread spool itself). Make sure the bobbin is correctly seated in the bobbin case (bobbin holder), and check that the upper thread tension is not set too tightly.
