Singer S10 Studio - Needle Going Crazy

I have a Singer S10 Studio I bought earlier this year in April. It only has about 20 hours of embroidery done on it... all of a sudden, in various places in my embroidery, the machine stops moving and the needle goes haywire, bouncing up and down. Sometimes I've been able to stop it with the Start/Stop button, but most times I've had to turn the power off. It's also shut itself off twice.
