which adjustment screw do i use to adjust focus,is it the one that says screen.sony projection tv model kp53hs30

There are six adjustment screws on the focus/screen control assembly. The three screen controls are the master brightness controls for the three picture tubes. These are adjusted so that all the tubes are just into the black when there is no picture (select an input with the source turned off, such as input 1 with the VCR off) in a darkened room with the lights off is best.

The other three controls are the focus for each of the three tubes. Best way to adjust these is to play a DVD and pause on credits or some writing, then cover the other two lens assemblies with a towel or something so you can see the focus of the tube you are adjusting better,

Many times people call it bad focus when the three colored tubes outputs are not aligned. This is actually a convergence problem. This alignment is done with the remote using the customer menu. This will align small mis-alignments only. If this doesn't move the colors around correctly, then the convergence circuit has failed and new electronic components are need to be installed.
