I Cant't Figure Out First Part Of Registration

it says on the tlelphone base to press and hold find handset, I can't find it

On the base, there are buttons The upper left one says FIND HANDSET.

PRESS AND HOLD IT until the IN USE light (above it) remains lit (note instructions say 4 seconds but mine clearly takes 6-7 seconds. THen release the FindHanset Button. NOW on the new phone, press the # (pound key) once and release.

I also put the phone on the base at that time.

Apparently, the battery may need to be at least 50% charged (a guess) for everything to work.
