Why Is Walmart Not Able To Keep Their Great Value Name Brand Items In Stock ?

My wife and I have tried to switch our household to Great Value products,only to find that many of them are out of stock or not stocked on shelves for months at a time.I was under the impression from past documentaries,that Walmarts elaborate computer system could sense when items were getting low and then reorder.As an investor,I am concerned that something has happened to this system that could cost Walmart millions of dollars a day.I know my wife does most of the shopping and is annoyed to have to leave Walmart to complete her shopping at other stores in the area. She even said once that Walmart was out of pimento cheese. "Who ever runs out of pimento cheese?" When we mention this to our friends and other acquaintances, they knowingly nod their heads because they often have similar experiences with WalMart. Some even say they would rather go anywhere else than to have to deal with WalMart.This is not meant to be disrespectfull in any way,only to help.Thks

There is many different reasons why a particular item could be out of stock. Sometimes it is a glitch in the ordering of the product, but if it is a long term thing then it is more than likely a warehouse 'out' or a distribution problem between the vendor and the Walmart warehouse.

I have worked on many shifts with the company and can tell you that if something is out for days at a time the problem is with the brand and nothe the store itself. The 'automatic ordering' does handle the majority of the stocking counts for day-to-day items, but some things do need to be manually ordered now and then.

An associate can check on the status of any item there is a upc barcode for to se if the item is 'in stock' 'in the backroom' 'in transit' or 'in warehouse' at any time if there is a question of the status.
