Roku updated their interface { I didn't ask them to } Now my external hard drive full of family movies don't work with it- Support was foreign speaking and useless- I purchased a app { roxbox } that worked for 1 1/2 years but with roku's update { which can't be reversed} it doesn't support windows anymore- REALLY? THE #1 OS IN THE WORLD- And they don't support it anymore? What idiots- My roku's are up for sale on e-bay- And 7 other family members are selling theirs also..What a stupid update roku idiots.

So here's my issues:
I own five Rokus: three XDS models, and two 2XS models. Fast forwarding and rewinding is an issue on all of them. If you go too far too fast, the players will not buffer the movie/show properly, and the players restart. Keep in mind, I have Comcast Blast at 35 Mbs speed, as well as a Vizio TV--with the same built-in internet channel--that has no such issue fast forwarding and rewinding.
Bigger issue: the older XDS models (which I have owned for less than two years), are not compatible with some popular channels such as Vudu, nor can the software be updated to accomodate the channel. Consequently, when you buy a Roku player, chances are within a couple of years that not all of your favorite channels will work, and you will be stuck with having to either buy a newer model, or go with a different streaming device. The latter will be my new plan. Forget Roku my friends!

PROS:
Bought the Roku HD, the size is very compact. The setup was easy and quick, had it up and running within the hour. Great if you're tired of Comcast expensive & rising cable prices and great for Netflix, & watching older out-dated movies.
CONS:
Don't expect to see any of your cable channels or shows/movies on Roku, it's like they created a whole new no name brand network(s). You have to be subscribed to HBO to even see any of the movies advertised on Roku and forget about the Disney channels - only teasers such as 1 minute advertisements/previews and 1 minute minibytes of your favorite shows/movies.
Also, there are not many current and up to date movies or shows.

I am so sick of trying to watch a Netflix tv show on my roku. I have been trying to load a show for 20 min. i have comcast high speed internet.
I am constantly losing the wireless connection. Even though the wireless is working fine.
Then I finally get the show, and it won't load. It takes 5 min. to say the show isn't available, try again later. Why would the show not be available.
And forget about the quality of programming on netflix. I get more programs on ME TV.
I don't know if it's a Roku or Netflix problem......perhaps both.
Now 25 min. later I still can't get a stupid tv show loaded from Netflix through Roku to my TV.
What a waste of time and money.

Once again my ROKU box will not connect to the internet. This happens usually once a week. My internet connection is fine. A very sorry product indeed.

Once again, my ROKU player does not work. My computer connects fine, but my ROKU device needs to be completely reset every two days or so. I'm looking forward to replacing it with a device that actually works.
