Verizon DSL dissappoints users. Service slowing down greatly over time.
I have been a Verizon DSL user for too long. Following an unexplained loss of ALL my Verizon services due to technical failure, once I was reestablished as a customer, my service was much, MUCH slower that it had been - for years.Tech support tried to see what was wrong, but insisted that my service was the same. The reception was - the same speed, they claimed.
However, I was offered a 'deal' to pay more for faster service if I wanted to receive signals fast enough to watch a video on line, for example, or any streaming news, etc. Previously, I was doing that on a regular basis, but now the service had been changed.
Now, though I was an OLD customer coming back to the SAME service I had previously, I was forced to purchase a land line, and the speed of signal transmission via my DSL connection is FAR SLOWER that it had been for the several years I had been using it.
I feel totally robbed and abused. Sadly, I live in a 'dead zone' and must have any connection to the outside world enter my home on a physical line. I live on the far side (by one building) of DSL, and cable DSL seems even more costly than Verizons NEW, unimproved, very feeble service.
Since I did not initiate any Verizon change in the first place, I genuinely believe Verizon is taking advantage of my inability to use WiFi for their own monitary gain.
Verizon DSL = higher price, for less service. I am a captive of Verizon!!
