1989 Toyota Cressida with 1GFE Engine

I own a 1989 Toyota Cressida GX81 with 1GFE engine. This model was built for luxury version with 6 cylinder smooth petrol running engine.When I bought this car, the head gasket was damaged so went to a boastful mechanic who said he knows about this EFI system engines. I provided him with the overhaul gasket and other stuff he demanded.After two week he tried his boastful effort to start my car but was unsuccessful and said he needed more time so I gave him one more week to get it done.He called one of his friend and they managed to start my car but with a late start in the morning and crackling sound with accelerating above 2000rpm and chewing lot of fuel.With my boiling tension, I paid him off and took my car and started to look for a mechanic who really knows about 1GFE engine but to my surprise all the mechanics had different views about this engine so Iam still struggling to get it repaired. My advice to all is to please check with the mechanics if they really know about your vehicle before they attempt to start repairs and don't get fooled with mechanics who boasts that they know everything where as they know nothing
