LG WM2101HW Reviews

** DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS. THEY DON'T WORK, WON'T LAST. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS
Purchased WM2101HW Jan 2010 and had problems right out of the gate. First, we went through TWO dryer drums because they dryer kept leaving black marks on our sheets. Then, after only 9 years of service, the pump crapped out. Now, we just replaced the rotor because the spline coupling stripped! How do you build something so poorly it strips a spline coupling? See attached photos! We never loaded this washer to its capacity, and the filter was cleaned monthly. LG's warranty only covers parts, and guess what? They're cheap! It's the repeated labor cost of the service calls that are the real expense. The washer still looks brand new on the outside. Now, the expense of additional repairs don't make it worth it, and we're going to be forced to buy a new one. What saddens me the most is only 9 years of service, and now we're going to have to throw the whole thing in a landfill. Making a washing machine this poorly can't be consistent with any kind of reasonable corporate environmental impact statementAnonymous-24253.... March 23rd, 2011
We remodeled our home in 2008 and bought all new LG appliances from Home Depot!
Terrible Products – Refrigerator ice maker doesn’t work. Self-cleaning oven doesn’t work…only solution, keep replacing the thermal fuse, (at your own expense) or clean it the old fashion way. Today, the ribbon has to be cleaned as none of the buttons work? Takes a service call to discover this after waiting two weeks with no oven (and you get to pay for this service). Microwave dead! Sorry was the only solution! Dishwasher needed a “special” hose (leaking) so when the tech showed up without one; it was another missed day of work for him to come back. In the meantime, wash them by hand! Washer sounds like its sucking air….three times as loud as my old one and I don’t believe the clothes are getting clean. Thousands of dollars spent on “top rated” LG appliances and only Sears (in my area) can or will service LG products. I was the third stove today with the same problem for the tech.
