If the item had been opened or used they'll take it back within 30 days. Plus, they'll pay for the return shipping charges. Keep in mind that the item must be sold and shipped directly by Amazon and not a 3rd party.

Let's start with the basics: Amazon's standard return policy allows customers to return most items that are sold and fulfilled by Amazon within 30 days of receipt for a full refund

Tap on Your Orders in the app Menu. Tap on the completed order that you need to create a return for. Tap on Order Details. Tap on the Return button under the Shipment Details section to create a return for the item.

We cannot exchange items unless they are defective or damaged. Items that are returned more than 30 days after delivery, are in unsellable condition, or are missing parts will be charged a restocking fee at our discretion. We cannot accept items returned after 60 days. Computers and cell phones.

It depends on the site, but as a rule companies will accept a return beyond the deadline if the item was damaged as received or is otherwise defective. The best procedure is to phone the merchant for instructions.
