Important Notes:
BlackBerry OS vs. BlackBerry Android: These instructions are primarily for older BlackBerry devices running BlackBerry OS. If you have a newer BlackBerry running Android, the standard Android factory reset process will apply.
Model Variations: Some menu options may differ slightly depending on your specific BlackBerry model.
Instructions:
Go to Settings: Locate the Settings icon on your BlackBerry home screen (usually a gear icon).
Find Security Options: Scroll through settings and find either "Security Options" or "Security".
Locate "Security Wipe": Within the Security menu, look for "Security Wipe".
Choose What to Wipe: You might be able to select specific data to wipe:
Emails, Contacts, etc.: Wipes personal data.
User Installed Applications: Wipes third-party apps.
Media Card: Wipes data from your SD card (if you have one).
Type "blackberry" to Confirm: A confirmation box will require you to type "blackberry" to proceed. This prevents accidental resets.
Start the Wipe: Click "Wipe" or "OK" to begin the process. Your BlackBerry will restart several times during the reset.
After the Reset:
Your phone will be like new when it turns back on.
You'll need to set it up again, including connecting to your Wi-Fi and signing back in to your accounts.
Please respond to my effort to provide you with the best possible solution by using the "Acceptable Solution" and/or the "Helpful" buttons when the answer has proven to be helpful.
