How To Get A Refund For A Hotel Booking That Was Closed When We Arrived

Upon arrival we found the hotel that we had booked via Expedia was closed. We had paid Expedia up front and want a full refund. Attempts to contact them by e mail gets a response that they will contact me in 48 hours, but then they don't

In order for us to process the refund request, please send the following information and/or documents to Expedia via a traceable courier service (e.g., U.S. Postal Service registered mail, Federal Express, or United Parcel Service):

All paper tickets (if you were not traveling with e-tickets);
A copy of the death certificate or official military orders;
A copy of the doctor's orders or hospitalization notice on official letterhead;
A letter including the request for an exception refund, the reason for the request, the e-mail address associated with your Expedia account, your Expedia itinerary number, the names of all affected passengers, and the number of tickets needing to be refunded.

Once we receive the documents, we will acknowledge this with an e-mail and will initiate the refund request with the airline. Once a decision is made by the airline, we will advise you of the outcome via e-mail.

If the airline approves the refund, the refund will be credited to the credit card used in the original purchase no more than 30 days after we receive your letter. Please wait at least two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your credit card statement
