Charging For Extra Days While Closed

Can Hertz charge me for extra days after I return the car due to the fact that they are closed. I rented a car for two days, but when I returned it they were closed. Upon dropping the keys in the drop box, I read a sign indicating that I will be charged for my rental until the facility reopens. Well this location was closed for thee consecutive days. That's five days of rental when I only had the car for 2 days.

Yes, they can and do, it sucks i always try my best to inform people of this policy so they can make the choice that best works for them. My manager has told me that they began doing this in responses to people abusing location hours to get out of paying for rental time (not saying that you were.) for example if i knew that a location was going to be closed for 4 days (Holiday+weekends) people would rent a one day rental turn it in the night before the location was open then write in the info for a one day rental on their express return form.
