The "Cautions" fix worked for my text-based notifications however not for my ringtone issue. Even in the wake of setting my "alarms volume" to "01" it was all the while causing my ears to drain each time the telephone rang. I found another discussion for another head unit/vehicle that proposed basically utilizing the "+" and "- " volume change catches WHILE the telephone is really ringing and it worked!! You can change the ringtone volume as low or high as you need. Mine was set to default to "50" ?? Now I have it set to "2" and it's ideal. It likewise is by all accounts a worldwide setting so when my sweetheart plugs his telephone into CarPlay after I changed the setting, it remained at level "2" for his telephone too.
