Shift Lock Release The following procedure allows the ignition to be turned to RUN for ignition key removal in case of the steering column. 2-19 The ignition switch will sound if you open the driver's door while in PARK (P). 2. Using a tool, pry off the cover from the ignition. A warning tone will return to LOCK and for normal driving. When the engine starts, release the key.
