• Are my points actually "worth" anything?
  
  Yes! This is one of the things that separates us from other question and answer web sites. With HelpOwl.com you can exchange your points for gift cards to leading merchants. You can get an idea what you can win by looking at the bottom of this page. It's that easy... accumulate points and trade them in for the prize of your choice!
• What else do I get with my points?
  
  Accumulating points is valuable for a few other reasons besides redemption for prizes as noted above:

  • The number of points you have is displayed along with any answers that you provide.
  • If you accumulate enough points, you will earn a place on one of our user leaderboards found thorughout the site.
• How do I redeem my points?
  
  Your points can be redeemed by logging into your account and clicking on the "Redeem Points" link underneath your point total on the left-side of the page. Once there, simply follow the instructions on the page to redeem your points.
• What if I provide a good answer, but it is not accepted?
  
  We understand that providing answers marked as accepted is the fastest way to earn points and we want to encourage you to answer as many questions as possible. We review all unaccepted answers every 4-5 days, and if we determine that your answer completely addresses the question then we will mark it as accepted and award the respective points.
• How can I get "HelpOwl Certified", and what does it do for me?
  
  There are currently 2 ways to become HelpOwl Certified:

  • Once 5 of your answers are marked as accepted, you will receive an email letting you know that you are HelpOwl Certified
  • Demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot and provide answers within a specific industry or company. For example, if you are an auto mechanic then you would be considered an expert answering auto-related questions.

  Certified accounts get all the benefits of normal accounts plus:

  • The ability to include HTML with your profile signature. This can be a useful addition since it allows you to generate inbound links as well as traffic to your web site, blog, etc.
  • A "HelpOwl Certified" image will appear beneath any answers you provide. This is helpful as it tells the person asking the question that you have likely provided a worthwhile answer and therefore increases your odds of having your answer accepted more quickly.
