What Is Hot Spot On Att Wireless

I have an iPad and and want to get on the internet but I don't have internet connection at my location and was told that a HOT SPOT on my att cell phone would allow me to get on the internet on my iPad please tell me if this is true and how I can get a Hot Spot added to my cell phone if this is true---give me a number to cal-- Thank you--

Your phone (whatever model it may be) must be designed to do this. Sometimes you can link through the phone to the Internet but the charges get very expensive to to it.
