Cancel automatic license renewal or subscription
Instructions Tips InstructionsThere are two ways to cancel the automatic renewal:
- Using the cancellation link in the notification email
- Using the AVG MyAccount to manage your orders and subscriptions.
You will receive a notification email about the upcoming automatic renewal 45 days before the license expiration. The automatic renewal service can be disabled up to 16 days before the license expiration.
Note: If you decide to cancel your product after you were billed, please refer to AVG's refund policy for help with requesting a refund.
Cancel the automatic renewal using the notification email- Open the notification email with the subject Your AVG license will be auto-renewed.
- Click the link click here in the text "To cancel AVG's Continuing Protection Service, please click here." at the bottom of the email.
- On the opened website click I really want to unsubscribe. This will open a confirmation page with two buttons - Yes and No.
Note: The confirmation page is not shown for all products and regions. In case you are taken to a page with a message that your subscription was cancelled, no further steps are necessary, and your automatic renewal is disabled. - Click Yes on the confirmation page.
- You will receive a final confirmation email with the subject AVG - Continuous Protection Service.
- Click the confirmation link in the confirmation email to disable the automatic renewal.
Tip: If you do not receive the confirmation email even though you have followed these instructions, please check the SPAM or JUNK folder in your email. In case any of the emails you receive from us appear to be empty, please see the article You received a blank email from AVG.
Cancel the automatic renewal via AVG MyAccountYou can also disable the automatic renewal of your AVG product or subscription via AVG MyAccount. Please note, that you may need to set up a new AVG MyAccount even though you are receiving emails from us. The AVG MyAccount is an optional service and is not created automatically for all customers.
To disable the automatic renewal in AVG MyAccount please follow these steps:
- Visit the AVG MyAccount login page and use your email address and password to log in.
Tip: If you receive a message that your email address is not in our database, please follow the article Create an AVG MyAccount. - Once logged into the AVG MyAccount, click Products at the top of the page, and then click Off next to your product.
- Click Turn Off in the confirmation pop-up.
- Your license will expire at the end of the license period, and you will not be billed.
In case the product you wanted to disable was not listed on the Products page, please continue as follows:
- While still in the AVG MyAccount, click Subscriptions at the top of the page.
- Click arrow button next to your product to expand the product description, and then click Downgrade to AVG FREE.
- Click Downgrade Now in the pop-up.
- Your product will be downgraded to a free subscription once your paid subscription expires, and you will not be billed.
