First, look at the company doing the charging. It should come up with a name, address & phone number. Contact the company to find out who/what they are & inform them you are being incorrectly billed. If the company wants it in writing send it by Certified Mail - that way you have proof it was received.

Meanwhile, challenge the fee with your credit card company. All of them allow you to do this online. Inform them you do not recognize the charge & are contacting the company to get the charge removed. Most companies will automatically suspend the need to pay the amount until things are straightened out. My one card actually stops the payment, contacts the company for me & issues a temporary refund on the spot that is good for 45 days until they verify the fraud...then it becomes permanent.

I use 1 credit card for general shopping, one for online & one for auto-debits. I NEVER carry more than one card in my wallet in case it's lost/stolen. When shopping I insist on seeing the card going through the machine since clerks can swipe the card through a portable reader that steals all the info. If I have to enter a zip code or pin I cover the pad w/my hand or head to keep security or portable cameras from seeing what I enter. I NEVER use my debit card for ANY purchases because they are NOT protected & even if the bank says it'll return monies what do you live on in the meantime while they're getting around to fixing the problem?
