Aspire 5720 Mic Will Not Work

I bought my Acer Aspire 5720 used. For some reason the Microphone has never worked and, I cant figure out why. Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

I would guess one of the two:

1. The microphone is physically damaged, or not plugged into the motherboard

2. The wrong drivers are install for your device/computer
